I'm really hoping this is a stepping stone to having another animatronic craze, I yearn for golden age animatronic restaurants

Box lunch is always filled with Disney stuff, I wonder if we’re going to get more Disney animatronics because of it

Spencer’s owns hot topic now? 😂 And box lunch? Throw in the spirit Halloween, and that means they have like 1/3 of the functional stores in my mall.

Joshua Harris :
TLDR Freddy is spirits launch pad to start revitalizing hot topic. And if he does well there (he will) I presume we’ll probably get pop culture animatronics from non horror properties that will be exclusive to hot topic and be spirits response to Halloween Costumes and their extremely competitive line up

The thing is, if they're gonna add an animatronic section to Hot Topic then they're gonna have to make the stores SO much bigger. Hot Topics are usually tiny and cramped so it'd be hard to fit animatronic displays in there. I feel like it'll be pretty expensive to expand the stores, especially within a mall.

DK :
Considering that hot topics are pretty much all in malls if they’re gonna have animatronics I don’t think they’ll have the space to display/store them. It’ll have to be online only for now unless they expand to a bigger space with more room for inventory

In the next 5 years, I bet they will all be one store and use HT and Spencer’s properties to incorporate it into their line up.

as an employee for hot topic i honestly don’t think he’ll be in stores. more than likely it’ll be an online thing. at least at my store, we literally don’t even have the space to display even boxes for something that large. knowing what i know, a lot of people prefer spencer’s to hot topic because their stores are generally still a lot cooler than hot topic has become in recent years, so maybe they’ll try to shift some focus back onto cool stuff rather than just kpop and niche indie tv shows. at least that’s what i’m hoping for

If they make a life-size Gir animatronic, bonus if he can be displayed in and out of the dog costume, they would be raking in cash.

Would a Freddie FIT in a hot topic? Are they going to remove the Loungeflys? Or the Funko wall?

Hey bro. When is the last time you went into a Spencers…Our best selling products aren’t on the back wall. Surgical grade jewelry and t-shirts are our main income point. Yes we have our back section but we’re not like a full adult store in the middle of the mall. If Spencers was as shitty of a store as you’re making it out to be, it wouldn’t be able to own Spirt, Spirit Christmas, Hot Topic, and Box Lunch.
