I feel like they should be able to reach out to dad. If dad says yes without talking to mom that’s a problem with your communication.

I was clear do not show up to the hospital unless asked or if you asked if. Some family members told me “oh we will be there in support. That’s what we do in this family” 🙄

I feel like asking dad is okay. the boundary really shouldnt be with other people to text you, but for your husband to actually communicate with you if someone does reach out to him. i know lots may reach out to dad, assuming mom is busy or tired so they may not wanna bother her by blowing up her phone.

I agree with what she said except the dad part. my wife and I have discussed EVERYTHING and come to a understanding. if the parents aren't on the same place tall need to communicate better

my son was a 24 weeker and spent 121 days in the NICU. In the beginning there was a 2 person at the bedside limit and my in laws did NOT understand that. no matter how many times I explained it, they thought it was mom and dad plus 2 visitors. i worked from the bedside daily, and there were so many times I was on meetings and they would just walk in the room and i would have to try to hustle on outta there, mute everything and go out into the family room and hope no one was in there so I could finish my meeting. it drove me absolutely NUTS

i dunno i disagree with the first one but ONLY because i dont want to talk to that many people after giving birth and trying to settle in with my newborn. my partner is there for a reason and he is like the bridge between others and me, he conveys who wants to come over and i approve or disapprove and he does the communication for me. its so helpful for me personally, but its different for everyone.

what is your reasoning behind the 15 minute visits? I think it's a great guideline! just curious

Thank you for saying this!!! I have to repeatedly remind my in-laws of the boundaries we set and yet they still try to kiss my baby, touch him without washing their hands, and try to wake him up when he’s sleeping and it pisses me off so much

THIS! I’m 8 months pregnant and am already establishing rules around my baby boy when he gets here. My sister in law helped me with the rules and limitations for newborns and it really helped me. Everyone needs to be cautious around newborns because they literally just came into the world. I love LOVE your advice!

agreed! my husband and I have a role to protect our baby's health and safety and to advocate for them because they're too young to do that for themselves

I swear on everything I love family will not and I repeat will not in any way shape or form be allowing family to do anything that you have stated in this video so perfectly because the moment I catch them doing it automatic detention, you will not be seeing my child for however long I feel you need to not be seeing them and I mean it and I’ll stand on that like business.
