There are frequent sewer leaks in our er due to pts pulling the pipes from the ceiling. The amount of strength to rip apart a steel pipe that is 10 ft in the air….. and that’s not even the worse of it. Like the general public has no clue what walks among us 😭

I got to do this I jumped on the bed with the IV pole and hooted like doodle Bob and when they restrained me I flopped back and forth on the bed like the exorcist. I really went into it

I love being patient in these sims. My favorite was when we gave an EMT class a sim involving 2 of us and they were supposed to use restraints. It took 7 of them but they did get me eventually. But they secured me onto a chair that had wheels. These poor souls thought I was successfully defeated and they turned to help with the other patient. The next classroom over was a group of police cadets getting a lecture from a very serious looking officer. He stopped mid-sentance when I rolled past, still restrained to the chair, and gleefully cackling as I made my escape down the hall.

I’ll never forget when my professor in OT school ran out of the room while pretending to be a dementia patient who elopes but she didn’t tell us we were in a simulation so we all looked at each other stunned until she came back in and was like “alright guys, thats absolutely not what you do.”

I had a schizophrenic, bipolar pt find a way to open the window (we were on the third floor), parkour down to the first floor, and when we caught him (after much effort lol) and asked him his name, he goes "you can call me Peter Parker" 🤣🤣🤣...healthcare bro 😂
