Long, expensive, delicious. Jay Fai is probably the most famous name for street food in Bangkok. Their portions are huge, and they use the freshest ingredients for their seafood dishes. Their crab omelette is perfectly rounded and filled with huge chunks of crab meat. It’s a very unique dish that requires years of skills, which Jay Fai has obviously mastered. She cooks every dish herself, and food is made table by table. Expect to wait between one to three hours for a table because she’s very, very popular! Street food is open from 9:00 to 19:30 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Reservations cannot be made in advance. To get to Jay Fai, you need to arrive early and join the queue. I arrived at 6:59 at the street food spot, and there was already a long line. I was number 22 in the queue. From 8:20 to 8:40, a list of visitors for the whole day is compiled. The staff writes down the names and number of people for everyone who has been in line. After the list is formed, no more customers are accepted at the street food spot. In other words, after 8:40, new clients are not accepted. There are many signs indicating this:
