Ppl are dogging on PA and NP in the comments but I seek them out! I have had more attentive care in both primary and emergency care from PA's and NP's then DO and MD

IMO we shouldn’t have two degrees and should just merge. DO schools that meet hybrid LCME criteria offer MD and OMM is an (optional) elective. No COMLEX, just USMLE. For the DO schools that can’t meet hybrid LCME… should be questioned if they should be degree granting until they do. DO students deserve a better / more consistent experience

I don’t put them down but I also don’t choose doctors with DO credentials. The experience between the two have been different for me. My symptoms have been overlooked too many times by DOs.

Ppl dont understand that a do student has to outperform an md student by a significant margin DURING med school to accomplish the same goals. Ill take a DO in a competitive specialty over an MD in that same specialty 7/7 days of the week bc i know just how hard they had to work to make themselves a favorable applicant for that spot
