TheOneTrueJoel :
Am I the body?
Who am I? More so..what am I?
Am I the mind? Am I more than mortal?
Do I have a soul? That part of me I swear is more than just my body?
Is my self awareness the reflection of my soul? Or is the self awareness a result of self perception, Illusions, and the evolution of my species?
Is death the end? Or do I traverse somewhere else I wonder?
When I die, will I ever be reborn again I wonder? Either as the lifely winds blowing on someone’s back, or maybe a great blue whale swimming in the immense ocean of abyss? Or Perhaps reborn as a creature so small it sees the gaps in between individual grains of sand?
And now to end on our final note:
Time slips silent through my veins,
A river no one truly chains.
We count the hours, days, and years,
Yet vanish softly through the spheres.
I sit and wonder what I am—
A fleeting thought? A soul’s small flame?
Am I this body built from dust,
Or something deeper time can’t crush?
Is consciousness a mirror’s lie,
A spark evolved so I ask “why?”
Or am I more than blood and bone,
A timeless pulse the stars have known?
And if rebirth should call my name,
Would “I” return, or not the same?
Would I still laugh with those I love,
Or lose them to the dark above?
Perhaps we spin through endless skies,
Through death and birth in different lives.
Or maybe life’s a single light—
One fragile, rare, unrepeatable night.
And somehow, both bring peace to me.
I do not need eternity
To find the beauty in this breath,
Or fear the mystery of death.
For what will come was meant to be;
No war with fate can set me free.
So I will love with open eyes,
Hold close the moments time denies.
I’ll live as fully as I can,
A soul adrift, a fleeting man—
Not seeking all the answers above,
But meeting the unknown with love.
