She became incredibly popular thanks to her animated series. This is not a typical story about infallible superheroes, but a mix of brutal realism, space opera and heavy family drama. The essence and origin of the phenomenon The Invincible franchise is a deconstruction of the classic superhero genre. While many comics are based on the concept of "with great power comes great responsibility," here comes to the fore how superpowers break the psyche, destroy families, and change the perception of morality. The main media source is the original comic book, which was published by Image Comics from 2003 to 2018. The authors of the project are screenwriter Robert Kirkman (best known as the creator of "The Walking Dead") and artists Corey Walker and Ryan Ottley. Later, the universe gained worldwide fame with the release of a jaw-dropping and visually expressive animated series that adapts the comic book's plot to a wider audience. The main character: Mark Grayson and his formation The plot revolves around Mark Grayson, a teenager who is in high school, going through the usual problems of transition, working part—time and trying to fit into the team. However, his life changes when he finally gains his superpowers. Mark is the son of Nolan Grayson, also known as Omni-Man. Omni-Man is the greatest defender of the Earth, a representative of the powerful alien race of the Wiltrumites. At the beginning of the story, Mark accepts his new abilities with great trepidation and joy: incredible strength, speed, the ability to fly and invulnerability to ordinary earthly threats. He takes the heroic name Invincible. However, Mark's journey from an inexperienced teenager to a full-fledged hero is full of mistakes, pain, and reinvention. He is faced with the fact that the world is not divided only into black and white. His first battles end in destruction, innocent victims, and personal injury. Mark realizes that saving people is not only about flying in a bright suit, but also making difficult decisions where it is impossible to save absolutely everyone. The Grayson family: Father and son, lies and betrayal The central conflict of the entire first third of the narrative (and the main plot twist) is the relationship between Mark and his father, Nolan. For a long time, Omni-Man seemed to be an ideal role model, a wise mentor and a loving father. However, as the story progresses, the horrifying truth is revealed. The Viltrumite race, to which he belongs, turned out to be far from noble explorers and defenders of the galaxy. Wiltrumites are ruthless, socially Darwinian conquerors who destroy or enslave other civilizations, selecting only the strongest to replenish their ranks. Nolan was sent to Earth as a vanguard to weaken the planet and prepare it for a full-scale invasion by the Viltrum Empire. When Mark finds out about his father's true motives, it leads to a massive and emotionally devastating conflict. Omni-Man tries to force Mark to join him and take the side of evil. A fierce battle takes place between father and son, during which Nolan almost kills Mark. Realizing what he has done, and remembering his sincere love for his family on Earth, Omni-Man cannot bring himself to finish off his son and flies into space. This event breaks Mark, forcing him to single-handedly take on the burden of protecting Earth, overcome a deep sense of betrayal, and cope with PTSD. 🌎 Villains and Threats: Beyond the Earth Unlike in many comics, where villains often commit crimes for petty gain, the threats in the Invincible universe are large-scale and truly deadly. The universe is constantly expanding, and threats are coming from many different directions.: - @nice_ed1tz
