I type out so many replies to comments that I end up deleting because I remind myself they will not hear me. They don’t want to consider a different opinion. They cannot believe we could have avoided a lot of what is happening by changing their vote.

I’ve started applying something my therapist told me about personal issues to that political rebuttal. “Just because someone else has it worse doesn’t mean your 💩 can’t suck too”. I don’t have to be happy with how things are here just because it’s worse elsewhere.

We do that in Canada a lot. We mainly compare to the US, but even if something is better in Canada vs something worse in the States or elsewhere that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to have something better. Idk if it’s people settling for something they don’t think is as bad as it could be, or they don’t want to actually get into the details for why they may be right/wrong about something so they just fob it off. We should all be trying for better ❤️(and more rights for others doesn’t reduce rights for you, they expand for everyone. Just like when someone is having a second child, they tell the first that love isn’t halved it’s doubled. It’s the same for rights).
