соня✮leatherskin :

so basically "Jonathan's bizzare adventures"

ace !! 🇨🇴🍉 :

another fun fact, the iliad is called that because back in the day Troy was called ilias, so translated literally the book would be called Troy Story

bigthor :

is that a jojo's reference? of course it is

yugen :

Odysseus' name actually comes from the concept of "odious" unpleasant/ hatred/ disgust. it was given to him by his maternal grandfather.

Daniel Nannery :

The story is called the “Hated Man’s Tale” if taken literally. Odysseus mean “Despised one” or “Hated one”

Sci :

They made a clumsy analogy on the Journathan thing, but I do wonder if the name existed before or it was made up for this. ( like if the word journey didn't exist before and someone coined Journathan AND his respective Journey at the same time)

conneryschesthair :

Wait til you find out about mentoring and the character of Mentor

jaawn :

From now on I shall refer to stories I tell about my life as "Jonatales" 😌

cranstontuba :

Here’s a story about the character Odious. We call it The Oddity

Andres Soto :

Skarlet :

Fun fact, Odysseus comes from the verb οδυσσομαι/odyssomai meaning "To be hated". The Odyssey has a lot of Speaking Names!
