Trust me it is a special kind of person that is a special ed educator! It’s a calling I truly believe that. My son is autistic in self contained and my daughter has an IEP for earning accommodations in an inclusive class. I can tell right away who became a sped for the love and who did for the money.( not saying they make a lot of money) but to make sure they have a position. The true ones are amazing!!! Currently a sophomore… junior next semester (severe/profound) and just got told that the rest of my classes would be IRL’s bc there isn’t enough ppl choosing serve/profound. I cried.
