I have never heard that if you pay for a carry-on, you cannot put your carry-on in the overhead compartment. That is absolutely absurd.

What exactly did he say that was rude or mean? Did he just have a bad tone? Some people just don’t want to risk their jobs for a random person. If he was rude that’s a different story. From both videos though it seems like he just told you “no” and “it’s company policy”.

I think you should definitely file a complaint because if you paid for it, that’s just not fair. Plus, you have evidence to back it up! And at the same time, you can put in a good word for the other amazing employee.
