Military families have been screaming for years about the horrible housing we live in. No one hears us.

Mama, your kids had FRONT ROW seats to you protecting them. They watched you fight back for what is right and heavily refuse what was wrong. That is protection 🩵

After you have lived in a constant and consistent state of stress, once things calm down, that’s when the sadness gets its turn. I’m really sorry you are in that part of grief. I hope it passes quickly and efficiently. Love you. In a social media, separated, moms across the country kind of way.

It may not feel like it, but you did protect them…you didn’t stop talking about it-you didn’t stop searching for answers…as awful as it is that you had to do any of it, your kids watched their parents fight for them and never stopped. You’re both doing amazing, and grieving is part of the process, so you both just process and know it was crappy but your kids saw warriors 💜💜

As parents it is fine to teach our children that not everything goes as planned. Children who can go with the flow and not have everything go perfect do well in life. They are loved and safe because of you🩷

You’re grieving what was. You’re grieving what could have been. This has to be done to clear space for you to celebrate the hard things that you have done. To celebrate where you are now. To start hoping that this will all be in the past and it’s all forward now

Your home should be your safe space. When that safety is taken from you, it makes sense to feel the loss from that. You're doing great.

I’ve been watching you two since before I was pregnant and had a child of my own. I never would’ve connected to this until I went through so much with my child. We spent the first 5 months of his life in the hospital… and I’m just supposed to tough it out and move on. Trying to protect them from things they should never have to go through especially so soon. You will be okay, but going through it is the worst. I’m sorry

You had a beautiful dream for your family and, by no fault of your own, was ripped away. Of course you’re going to feel all the feels. I’m so sorry you have to experience this [Red heart]

You both are fantastic parents. Your kids know that and lets be honest we all need to learn resiliency especially in cases where we would not expect it.

As a mom who has been through it the last few years: I feel this but let me give you another perspective and from a litigation paralegal. You have taught these kids so much this year! First and foremost;”: they have learned to fight for what is right! They have learned to stand on principle 10 toes down. They have learned to fight for their kids (should they choose to have them). They have learned that you love them so much you will fight for them and their safety and their health. Not every parent will. They have stability: you two. They have these two amazing parents who truly love each other and laugh and have joy in their home. That have shenanigans that are so much fun that I want to be your kid and I’m older than you (PS can I be your husbands paralegal from Texas remotely). They have learned adventure. They have learned so so so much. You know what they will take from this time: ranch nonsense, the crazy dog stories, blue tape on the wall and can’t remember why, and shenanigans. That’s what! Not instability and craziness - FUN!

Been living in a house with these issues for 9 years now stressing that the house will cave in on us one day. It is government housing (Australia) and been begging for a structural engineer to come out as even the maintenance men refuse to do any work on the house till an engineer comes but housing says no it’s just “settlement “. We literally hear it cracking during the night.

I was a child who grew up in ever changing circumstances. It's actually psychologically better for your kids to deal with hardships. They learn to be able to figure things out, they learn resiliency. Those who have been overly sheltered grow up to be inadequate adults. Please take care of you. You ARE taking care of your kids.
