Some places hold memories the world could never erase. 🪶🌅 This morning, as the sun rose over Alcatraz Island, Indigenous people gathered to honor their ancestors, their cultures, their resilience, and the generations who came before them. A place once marked by oppression became a place of prayer, unity, remembrance, and cultural reclamation. Indigenous Peoples Day is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a reminder that Indigenous peoples are still here. Our cultures are still alive. Our traditions continue. And our ancestors are not forgotten. To witness this gathering at sunrise was a powerful reminder that we cannot erase a people whose roots run deeper than history books.
