I went to Japan for a month. I learned certain phrases I had no problem communicating I used my telephone to translate menus, but usually they have an English menu and a lot of places have a vending machine where you order your food from the vending machine in English not once a problem, only one time did I ever have any kind of problem it was when a taxi driver could not find where I was going, and he still charged me and he never even got me near.
