@diananova9: Centered entirely within the Halemaʻumaʻu crater at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, Kilauea Volcanic Eruption ep.48 had lava fountaining exclusively from the crater's north vent. The lava reached a peak height of 650 feet (200 meters). The continuous, high-volume eruption lasted for nine hours, blanketing roughly 40% of the crater floor with an estimated 7.3 million cubic yards of fresh lava before abruptly pausing at 1:37 p.m. June 1,2026. Driven by strong southerly winds, the eruption's 24,000 foot volcanic plume prompted an Ashfall Advisory from the National Weather Service, scattering lightweight tephra, fine ash, and Pele’s hair across local communities including Volcano village, Mountain View, and segments of Highway 11. By surpassing 47 distinct fountaining phases, Episode 48 officially eclipsed the decades old milestone set during the iconic 1980s Puʻuʻōʻō eruption sequence.
