Car wash Manager here. Car wash should have to accept liability for all damages due to employee negligence and that employee should be terminated if that was willingly loaded by an employee.

As I stated in another comment absolutely not the driver’s fault, the attendant is 100% responsible for what goes into that tunnel. While damage to aftermarket parts won’t be covered normally, if the damage to those parts comes from negligence or if any other damage to cars occurs due to an attendant’s intention, they always fire the attendant. More importantly, while the second car is right to be upset, they really do need to get tf back in the car. Firstly even with non slip shoes and plenty of time working in those tunnels, just walking around can be very dangerous. It’s extremely slippery and workers there often know of particularly slippery spot that will put you on your ass 1000% of the time if you don’t know they are there. Additionally to resolve the issue they need to remove you all from the tunnel. They’ll need to start it back up to reverse the wraps as well iirc, and even if they didn’t have to do all that, they can’t safely move a single person with anyone else in the tunnel. Pulling out you have to drive over a hunch of the bumps. People always do stupid shit while doing that and they can often get overstimulated and just start turning for no reason. Being out puts your life and safety at risk, they have all the info they need in the office as well as cameras. Get back in the car, wait until they pull you all out and yell at the dumbass in the parking lot

So it’s the owner of the truck with the stuff in the back that’s the issue. And the car wash if they didn’t warn him. They have a big sign that will tell you not to go through with after market parts.
