Fighting an Unbelievable Warranty Rejection at Chery Ultranexus PJ! I am currently standing my ground at the service center fighting a massive safety issue on my brand-new Chery Omoda 5 which is barely 6 months old. In just 7,000 km of driving, both of my rear tires have been completely destroyed—wearing down from 5.99mm to an incredibly dangerous, bald 0.68mm! The wear is perfectly mirrored and isolated strictly to the inside edges of both rear wheels. Instead of owning up to what is clearly a severe factory rear axle alignment or multi-link suspension defect, the Service Center Manager is trying to blame me and reject my warranty claim. Their "evidence"? They are taking photos of a minor, cosmetic tailgate dent high up on my trunk lid door to claim that caused the issue!

If Malaysian Cherry is giving dishonest statement as compared to Chinese statement then I would consider buying a car from the Malaysian Cherry distributor to be avoided. Lucky I'm driving BMW and WV.

That's why when my wife ask me, what if we buy china cars? I told her, NOT YET. Lets watch first. Maintain japanese cars and we end up buying Toyota for now. Lets wait until china cars complete their warranty period. This incident proves that we are right.

if comparing between both statement from Chery HQ and Chery MY, suffice to say Chery MY is lacking of transparency [or none?]. Both these and the way they handle the first case in 2024 should be looked into.

The weld was cold.the welding process didn't melt the base metal and only the welding material was actually holding thing piece.

The only explanation I think local unit know exactly the number and batch of the cars affected, BUT they do not dare to issue the statement before their HQ actually release the information. This is very typical of centralised control china company. Local company already scared to lose their market and job.

Chery HQ only issued statement because the video went viral overseas, especially in the UK. Even though the UK's version doesn't use a torsion beam config.
