I was looking for a place I could afford after not working for a few years to be home with my babies…had just gotten back to working outside the home and realized I’d maybe only be able to afford a 1br apartment for me and my 2 kids. I said I’d let them have a bunk bed in the room and I’d sleep in the living room, nbd. My 9 yr old son said, “You can sleep in the room with sister and I’ll sleep on the couch. You’ve been sleeping on the floor a long time.” 😭😭😭 Me and their dad had been separated awhile but I had to go back to work and save up to move out and had been sleeping on a mat on the floor of their bedroom. So grateful we’re in such a better place and I’ll never hear this song the same again 🫶🏽
