Except Yall don’t understand that Korra severing the connection to past lives makes it so we NEVER see them again. We will never hear any more cool past avatars stories. We will never hear their advice. We will never be able to enjoy the tales of another avatar being told to the current one. All we have is Korra and pavi. The thousand years of avatar experiences, memories, built up techniques gone. How are you not sad abt that? The main thing that made an avatar an avatar was the culmination of those experiences making each future avatar stronger. It’s been reset to almost 0 now. It’s not a Korra problem she couldn’t stop it and had a shit team around her. It’s a writing problem which is why the authors so desperately blame misogyny and homophobia. The truth is the people take out their frustration at the authors out on Korra as a character.

I hate that Aang and Korra are constantly pitted against each other and it’s usually Aang stans hating on Korra which flips around to Korra stans having to shit on Aang. Both have their own faults and mistakes but both are great characters!! That being said I love Korra more than Aang 😭

the creators really played in their faces with the movie they so desperately wanted about the gaang in their prime. bryan didn't even wanna go back to the original characters initially, which was pretty clear to anyone who watched the interviews back then, even when tlok was airing. atla stans were convinced that nothing could stop the gaang, only for them to get humiliated once they faced a korra villain-level threat. should've been obvious considering they started having a losing streak in atla once they stopped facing fodders like zhao. not to mention aang making every mistake they accused korra of making in tlok. they really wanted to expose this particular (loud) fanbase as a bunch of hypocrites, and the reactions once the movie dropped only proved their point.

i think with Aang, he was not intending to disappeared or freeze himself the storm did that. and yes he did leave, but he did not intend to leave for 100 years. so that point does not validate one or the other. yes it was Unalaaq, but korra should not of trusted her uncle the same how Aang should not of fully Tagah.

ironically the only one who cut ties with his past lives ON PURPOSE was Aang. Check it out, in the comics he cut ties with Roku which affected the communication with his other past lives making it difficult for Yangchen to warn him about general Iron
