@m.novaedits: CHENG LEI IS BACK cdrama: The Lament of Autumn plot: Set during the turbulent era of the Republic of China amidst widespread regional conflict, the story follows Ye Pingjun, a dedicated student who takes on a job at a meeting house in western Hunan to earn money for her mother’s medical treatments. On her very first day, her life takes a dangerous turn when she finds herself unexpectedly entangled in a high-stakes crime. Pingjun is falsely accused of attempting to get rid of the son of a powerful and influential family, placing her in immediate peril. Determined to prove her innocence, she enters into a high-stakes agreement, challenging Yu Changxuan to investigate and find the true culprit within a strict timeframe. Rather than simply exposing the truth, Changxuan uses the investigation as an opportunity to grow closer to her, eventually beginning to court Pingjun even as he conceals his deeper motivations. As they navigate a complex web of hidden agendas, suspicion, and a passionate love-hate entanglement, the pair must find a way to defy the crushing weight of fate and the encroaching shadows of war that threaten to tear them apart. #thelamentofautumn #chenglei #xuruohan #cdrama #cdramaedit
