THIRD ARREST WHILE OUT ON A 1M BOND FOR MURDER| PRESTON LORD UPDATE| Talyn Vigil, 20, one of the suspects awaiting trial for the 2023 beating death of 16-year-old Preston Lord, has been arrested for a THIRD time while out on a $1 million bond Vigil was arrested by Tempe police near the ASU campus after officers witnessed him drag racing motorcycles, splitting traffic, and doing burnouts He faces misdemeanor charges for reckless driving and exhibition of speed A judge has set an additional $5,000 bond for the new charges, which Vigil has paid and AGAIN has been released- the court also has completely revoked his driving privileges When addressed by the judge regarding the incident and the driving restriction, Vigil stated, "Wasn't my fault, and I'm honestly going to stay off of driving myself He was previously arrested in September 2025 for violating a restraining order, and again in February 2026 for reckless driving on a dirt bike In April 2026, prosecutors moved to revoke Vigil's bond after his first two misdemeanor arrests Judge Myers denied the state's motion, citing three main factors- -The existing $1 million bond was already "extremely high" -The court believed his electronic monitoring was sufficient to ensure he would show up to trial -The judge ruled that the municipal misdemeanors did not prove he was an immediate "danger to society" regarding violent crime A separate hearing will be held with the judge presiding over the murder case to review his release status in light of this latest violation I think it's fair to say , he thinks the seriousness of this is a joke .... QUICK BACKSTORY ------------------------ The charges stem from the October 2023 beating death of 16-year-old Preston Lord, who was swarmed and fatally assaulted by a group of teenagers outside a Halloween house party . Investigators revealed that the violence erupted over a minor dispute involving a stolen gold chain necklace from one of Lord's friends. Lord, who did not know his attackers, was left unconscious in the street with severe blunt-force brain injuries and died in the hospital two days later The brutal killing exposed a widespread wave of coordinated East Valley teen violence linked to a group known as the "Gilbert Goons", leading local towns to ban weapons like brass knuckles and prompting Arizona to pass "Preston's Law" to penalize multi-attacker ambushes Talyn Vigil is one of seven suspects indicted for first-degree murder and kidnapping in the case The other defendants include - Talan Renner, Jacob Meisner, Treston Billey, Dominic Turner, Taylor Sherman, and William Owen Hines—the only suspect to take a plea deal so far, currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for manslaughter While a judge has already ordered that the massive case be split into multiple trials, the first individual trial is fast approaching, with Jacob Meisner scheduled to face a jury on November 3, 2026 #PrestonLord #TalynVigil #GilbertGoons #ArizonaNews #JusticeForPrestonLord
