the way they wrote chris is incredible. usually, when i see a truly evil character, they stay evil in my eyes forever. think joffrey baratheon or dolores umbridge. no amount of backstory could ever make me sympathize with them. but chris was different. by showing us her home life, the writers managed to humanize someone who was genuinely cruel. for a moment, you stop seeing just a bully and start seeing a girl who is also a product of her environment. it doesn’t excuse a single thing she did, but it makes you understand how she became that person. and i think that’s what makes her character so brilliantly written.
