The bigger flex is that you were a Mom that your child feels safe coming home to. I would live in a box on the street before moving back in either of my parents’ houses. I save so I never have to live with them EVER again.

My recession indecator is when people hear about young adults still living with parents the response is now “your so lucky, never move out” [Tears of joy] it used to be looked at as people failing to launch

I love this!! My parents just sold the house they bought for 120,000 over 20 years for $900,000. Meanwhile I struggle to pay 2,100 a month for my 1 bedroom apartment.

My 76 year old mother is finishing her downstairs after 40 years for this very reason. She’s adding bedrooms, bathroom, and kitchenette in case her great-grandkids ever need to come home. She said the time is coming where we’ll have to pool our resources.

Same. My home is big enough to be a multigenerational home. Told the kids they can live here with me. Get married. Have a kid if they so choose. Just take over 1 bill a portion of property tax, they are good to go. Still cheaper than renting or buying a home.

We bought our home in 2003 to use as a multigenerational home. We now have two adult children that live here with us. Best decision ever.

Good job momma! Data scientist here with a Masters in political science. I saw the writing on the wall and purchased a home before the cheetoh man took charge. Glad I did because I been unemployed since January!

The fact that she even considered that, even could consider that. Instead of leaving, regardless of the expenses out of fear and trauma. It speaks volumes, on so many levels to how amazing of a mom you are.

My adult children still live at home because it’s just not reasonable to throw away the kind of money rent and utilities require. Multi generational family living is the only way many are going to get through this

I’m 56 and my mother is 74. We live a mile from eachother. She is a widow of over 20 years, and I have been divorced for three years. Neither of us will ever live with a man again. We have been talking about one of us selling our home and then just living with the other. There is no sense in both of us paying utilities, property taxes etc.

i’m 24 and i still live with my parents. is it a little embarrassing? absolutely, i refuse to pay $1300/month on rent for a 1bedroom not including bills or a $600k that’s worth $150k.

My rent is $1500, I’m going back to my parents house when my lease is up. It’s ridiculous because pre covid rent was $900
