day in the life of a marketing lead living in new york city 🥹 i genuinely can’t believe i’m typing new york city instead of los angeles. after three years of calling la home, i’ve packed up my life and moved across the country to start a new chapter. i always told myself i’d live in new york someday, but i never knew when that day would come. every time i visited for work, i’d think about how much i loved la and how comfortable i’d become with the life i built there. there was nothing wrong with the life i was leaving behind, which made the decision even harder. when i started exploring new career opportunities, i hoped to find something remote or based in los angeles. but the opportunity that felt most right happened to be in new york. of course, i was scared. there’s a different kind of fear that comes with leaving something good behind. when you’re unhappy, change can feel obvious. when you’re content, it’s easy to convince yourself to stay. this move was one of the most hectic and emotionally overwhelming weeks i’ve experienced in a long time. it was surreal packing up a life i wasn’t ready to say goodbye to while feeling excited about everything ahead. moving has reminded me that growth rarely feels convenient. it can look like sleeping on an air mattress, living out of boxes, learning a new commute, and building community from scratch. it can mean missing the people and places that made your old life feel safe while still feeling grateful for the chance to begin again. some days, i feel completely confident this was the right decision. other days, i miss the ease of knowing exactly where i belonged. both feelings can exist at the same time. walking through new york in the fall, surrounded by people chasing something, makes me feel incredibly grateful to be here. it’s a completely different pace of life, and i’m excited to see who i become in this next chapter. i’ve also been thinking about my younger self, especially the version of me who struggled in college and questioned whether i’d ever become the person i wanted to be. i remember printing 40-page interview packets and memorizing them every night for eight months of nonstop interviews. after rejection after rejection, i wondered if i was capable of doing the things i wanted to do. if i could go back and tell that version of myself that everything would eventually be okay, she’d probably roll her eyes. but i genuinely mean it. i’m learning to celebrate the small wins: finding a favorite coffee shop, recognizing familiar streets, making new friends, getting through a busy workday, and coming home to a space that’s slowly starting to feel like mine. i don’t know exactly what this next chapter has in store for me, but i don’t need to have everything figured out to trust that something good can come from trying. here’s to new beginnings, taking chances, and giving yourself permission to become someone new. i’m just grateful to be here. 🤍 #Vlog #asmr #nyc #dayinmylife #workvlog
