I think it’s three fold: 1) she is resource farming, making sure she keeps OP’s time/energy/space and finances for herself! 2) she’s just jealous! OP has resources to spare/share with her and she doesn’t want her to ALSO have a happy relationship with”why should OP have it all?!?” 3) she’s not planning on moving out any time soon and is probably planning of moving the deadbeat BF in too, OP having a boyfriend would inhibit that.
