HE WAS MORE THAN A TRAGIC HEADLINE. 💔 Yesterday, 42-year-old Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem of Atlanta lost his life in a horrific accident involving the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia. Today, as more information comes to light, I want to address something that has genuinely bothered me. Since the accident, graphic photographs allegedly showing the aftermath have been circulating across social media. Some have even been posted in the comments of my own TikTok videos. And I have to ask… Where has our humanity gone? This man was somebody’s father, somebody’s husband, somebody’s loved one. He was a human being who went to an amusement park expecting to enjoy his day, not lose his life. His family is now facing an unimaginable tragedy, and instead of allowing them the dignity of grieving, people are circulating photographs of his final moments and the aftermath as though they’re entertainment. I understand curiosity. I cover news and true crime myself. But there is a difference between informing the public and exploiting someone’s suffering. Just because you have a photograph doesn’t mean you need to share it. Imagine losing someone you love and then opening social media to find strangers sharing graphic images of their death. We can discuss what happened. We can demand answers. We can question the safety of the ride. But we can do all of that without stripping this man of his dignity. My thoughts are with Hassan’s family, his friends, and everyone who witnessed this tragedy. Rest in peace, Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem. 🕊️ And please, before sharing those photographs, remember that behind every headline is a real person and a family whose lives will never be the same. #SixFlagsOverGeorgia #Goliath #HassanJihadIbnKariem #RespectTheVictims #Humanity
