The first shipment arrived Oct. 5, Attorney General Derek Brown announced. Utah sued Cal-Maine Foods, Versova Holdings and Hickman's Family Farms, alleging the companies swapped pricing and bidding plans rather than compete, raising what Utahns paid for eggs. "Utah families paid more than they should have for eggs, all because a few companies decided to cheat rather than compete," Brown said. The food bank is sending the eggs through its 360 partner agencies statewide, putting families who rely on food assistance first.
