Those aren’t to code just saying, and the actual position of the outlet is fine you can have it upside down or right side up just depends on what your installing but the receptacle needs to be in a box.

I don’t know how you are selling they can’t be ul listed cause you’re supposed to have a spark ring in there when you have a gap in between the box so when you use the correct method, aka Spark Ring, there would be no need for those
