The only time I've said anything was at legally blonde when Sheridan forgot her line about "a half loop stitch!" & she just looked at the audience, laughed & still in Elle mode said "oh! I so completely forgot my lines" & giggled. I told her it was brilliant ad libbing & really funny! I was actually complementing her on quick thinking & staying as Elle!

people do this? i tell every performer that i loved their performance and the one time i went into detail i told the girl who played heather duke that i loved how her socks changed in never shut up again. why would anyone call out mistakes?? thats so weird and disrespectful

Why would they say that that’s just rude man they are strangers to us and we are strangers to them so saying you messed up to a performer who doesn’t know you is incredibly rude

the only time ive mentioned on stage mistakes to actors was three times when they themselves approached me about it to ask if i 1) had noticed and 2) had happened to record the mishap because they found it fun but id never bring it up first thats insane

That‘s crazyyyyy. Though it reminded me of a time when I went to a show quite a lot, so the cast recognized me and then asked ME if I noticed when something went wrong - of course I did 😂

Only time it’s ever been brought up for me was when I was talking to Amy about the ballet after Mincemeat and SHE mentioned how she messed up. I could never dream of pointing out to an actor that they made a mistake

As someone who has ofc regularly stage doored a particular show, the only time I myself mentioned a mistake was…if the performer was the one to bring it up. I did however see multiple times people bring up mistakes and even like, remind them of mistakes long after the fact, which always felt weird. We don’t know how they felt about the mistake even if they may have laughed in the moment, so why bring it up! I hate when someone tells me I’ve missed something or made a mistake at work, this is literally no different !

I’m more of a ‘plan to compliment their performance but then get too excited and panic and just stand there awkwardly’ kind of girl 😀 I missed an actor at stage door once and someone told me to follow them to say hi because ‘he won’t mind! He gets this all the time!’. No, Susan. That’s weird. I’m not following him to big Tesco.
