The word sahaba is not found in that verse but rather it says follow those people who performed the hijra and the ansar of Medina. it's stating that they are an example of people of exceptional faith. one should follow their examples.

As for the early vanguards who immigrated (Muhajerin), and the supporters who gave them refuge (Ansar) and those who followed them in righteousness, ALLAH is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. He has prepared for them gardens with flowing streams, wherein they abide forever. This is the greatest triumph.

I am Sunni but to be fair the verse states this as a suffecient condition and not a necessary one. just like a verse about dying in battle for Allah giving you heaven doesnt mean those who don't die in battle don't go to heaven.
