@theargentgroup: China’s CATL has deployed 10 mobile charging robots at a parking lot in Tongli Town, Suzhou, to help electric vehicle drivers charge their cars during the busy October holiday period. The robots are called CharGo and were developed by Yundian Intelligent Technology, a CATL subsidiary. Drivers can request a robot through a mobile mini-program, allowing it to travel to their parking space instead of requiring them to find a fixed charging station. Each robot carries a 65-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery and supports DC charging at up to 55 kilowatts. The system also offers electric vehicle battery diagnostics and can generate a battery health report. The technology has uses beyond car charging. During the holiday period, CharGo robots also supplied electricity for lighting and display installations at Canal Culture Park in Suzhou. CharGo was previously reported operating at Xiangmi Lake Four Seasons Flower Valley in Shenzhen. At that location, the reported price started at 1.80 yuan per kilowatt-hour, around US$0.25. The price applies to the Shenzhen service, not necessarily to other locations. Mobile charging robots can bring stored electricity to parked vehicles without requiring a fixed charging post at every parking space. However, they have limited battery capacity and are available only where the service has been deployed. Sources: CATL, October 8, 2026; Shenzhen Daily, August 7, 2026.
