They barely even make sure you’re actually buckled before starting rides, they go way too fast checking. Half the time just glancing. There was once my bar didn’t click at an amusement park and they were about to just start the ride. I would have flew out

So at sea world In Orlando Florida I was literally to big for the ride it was like an upside down ride with like a life vest type of harness that locks in idk what it’s called. Anyways it wouldn’t buckle shut and they were about to start the ride I had to beg and scream for them not to start the ride bc I knew I was gonna fly out they let me out at the last second

Oh man. The fact that people tried to help him. This confirms the comment I made to someone who said “people should have grabbed him and held on.” I told them that it was probably extremely hard to do that in that scenario.

I went to six flags last month (IL) and went on one with no straps and I said the same thing to my brother this shit ain’t safe somethings gonna happen with no belts.

I used to work there at the park and they said all the times they never had their parts up to date or anything cause some factories don’t make them anymore and it’s important parts of the coaster

Story time: My stepdad used to put carnival rides together for extra money when the carnivals would come in to town. When they were training him, they told him to just line up the holes, and drop a bolt in…no nuts like this 🔩 nothing securing it. So basically, your life depended on just a loose bolt…I never went on a ride again after that but I should have known better before then because when I was little my sister saved my life on a roller coaster, the lap bar popped up at the very top of a drop off for no reason and she held on to me and made sure I didn’t fly off.

From what I can piece together and from the photo of the guy, it looked like he had a beer belly and skinner legs. He could’ve just locked the lap bar to his belly instead of his lap and as he was moved on the ride his belly slipped out and with his legs being substantially smaller the lap bar wasn’t able to hold them in. It would make sense because with him hitting the cart multiple times I imagine parts of his legs got hung on each impact until he fully slipped out. If you have a belly you have to make sure that you’re moving it and getting the restraints on your hip bones as much as you can to be pinned in.
