أصبح الحجاب تهمة، وأُغلقت أبواب العلم في وجه العفّة، أيّعدالةٍ هذه التي تضع الفتاة أمام خيارٍ قاسٍ: إمّا أن تتخلّى عمّا تؤمن به، وإمّا أن تتخلّى عن حقّها في التعلّم؟ وأيّرسالةٍ تربويةٍ يمكن أن تحملها مدرسةٌ تُقصي طالبةً بسبب مظهرها، بدلًا من أن تحتضن عقلها، وتنمّي فكرها، وتفتح أمامها نوافذ الحياة؟ إنّالمدرسة التي تُعلّم الإنسان معنى الحرية، لا ينبغي لها أن تجعل الحرية مشروطةً بالتخلّي عن القناعة. والتعليم الذي يُفترض أن يُحرّر العقول من الجهل، لا يجوز أن يتحوّل إلى وسيلةٍ لإجبار الضمائر على الاختيار بين الإيمان والمستقبل. نرفض أن يُختزل هذا الحقّفي صورةٍ واحدة، وأن تُقاس كفاءة الطالبة بما ترتديه، والحجاب ليس جدارًا يفصل الفتاة عن العلم، وليس حجابًا على العقل، ولا عائقًا أمام الإبداع؛ إنما هو، لدى من تختاره عن قناعة، تعبيرٌ عن هويةٍ وإيمانٍ وكرامة. ومن الظلم أن تُعاقَب فتاةٌ على تمسّكها بقناعةٍ شخصية، بحرمانها من حقٍّ لا ينبغي أن يكون امتيازًا يُمنح لمن يشبهنا، ويُسلب ممّن يختلف عنّا.
