why are we going to hospitals for infections? Infections very scarcely require A&E, your GP is an easier more reliable source to get antibiotics and talk to about infections.

When I tried going to another hospital because my “local” one is literally in the top 5 worst hospitals in South Wales, I’m geographically in range for that other hospital and went there twice before all of a sudden they started saying I couldn’t go there and had to go to the “local” one.. even the paramedics insist on it.. by vehicle the hospital I prefer to go to is CLOSER than the “local” one, they fully on some bs the nhs

Was in urgent care on Monday with excruciating stomach pain that went to my back and was making me vomit, ive had on and off episodes for months but the nurse at urgent care tried to put it down to a stomach bug, anyway, i spoke to the doctors yesterday and now im being tested for gall stones and a blocked bile duct…. Oh and they said the nurse should have sent me to A&E… 🤦♀️

You can’t “nearly get sepsis”, you either have it or you don’t. You can develop sepsis from _any_ infection, regardless of how bad the infection is, but there’s no measure to tell you how close you are to developing it. I don’t know why (or if) some hospitals are telling people this

It’s WILD to me how so many drs will hand you antibiotics randomly yet when you are sepsis and showing sign of infection they refuse 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫. Bizarre

Dismissed 3 times from hospital with a “viral infection” on my 4th visit I refused to leave until they found out what was wrong. Turns out I had sepsis due to multiple infections 🥰🤣

3 doctors missed my kidney infection that was leaving me bed bound for weeks from how painful it was. i ended up with sepsis.

i had a chest infection and also have asthma was told by 3 doctors it would go away on its own. I then started wheezing which was on the left side of the lung but still told me it would go on its own then pushed to see someone else then told me it had spread to my other lung and then was given antibiotics. I understand their concern for antibiotic resistance but we know our body better than anyone! 😖

If your willing to pay it go privately it’s so much better the only downside is the money that you have to pay monthly and excess but you get seen a lot quicker and they take you seriously

I have rpoc after having my baby, (retained placenta) and they’re just leaving me and said “come back if your bleeding through a pad every hour” how come they have to leave us to bleed out, get infections or die, before they’re willing to help. It’s pathetic. I’ve been stuck with this placenta in for almost 4 months and still no sign of getting it taken out.

I’ve currently got a migrating coil that’s causing me severe pain and bleeding, hospital have sent me home as there saying it’s not a priority. Live laugh love women’s healthcare

i have a colloid cyst on my brain and ambulance took me hospital due to suspected brain on bleed, the doctor said so you've wasted time and come here for a headache and chest infection. I said no im here with suspected bleed on the brain. he argued with me for 20mins about this and then passed me to another doctor who urgently needed scans and tests done due to the pain getting worse and a bleed becoming more likely and life threatening

I had 4 hypoglycaemia episodes. Ketones were 8, glucose was 2.1 life threatening but I still got septicaemia stage 2, infected veins because the hospital was not sterilised at all. I almost fell into multiple comas but I fought hard to keep myself alive because I have a little boy. I was told I had a blood clotting disorder and then multiple other issues just for the official diagnosis to be Type 1 diabetes🥲. NHS has traumatised me and ruined my body but I am still here to tell my story xx

i have cystitis and a multi antibiotic resistant bug in my bladder i had a UTI and i got a severe kidney infection because they didnt read my notes to see i was resistant and kept prescribing antibiotics that wouldnt work eventually i had to go on a drip because if i waited longer i wouldve got sepsis

went to the gp 2 weeks ago who diagnosed me with a raging uti with over 1000 red blood cells in the sample and first lady gave me laxatives for absolutely not reason and then second lady was shocked and sent me to hospitals to check for appendicitis or ovarian cyst and told them to also give me antibiotics. had an ovarian cyst that wasn’t big enough for them to need to operate so got sent home and told to use a heat pack. not one person gave me antibiotics for my horrendous UTI when i was literally peeing blood clots (which is the reason why i was there) because they were all focused on this ovarian cyst 🤣 and i hate having to call the GP back so guess who doesn’t have any antibiotics still….? 😂
