They figured out that if there’s no physical media then there’s no second hand market which means they no longer have to compete with them with sales. Plus everyone needs to buy their own copy directly from them if they want to play a game, so it’s a double checkmate for them. But they were playing checkers while the pc community were playing chess 😂

this is the problem, Sony seems to think most games are bought digitally but that's because of Ball and gun gamers that buy there games on a yearly basis when Sony has barely released any exclusives. Of course that's going to skew the numbers

wasnt that the original idea of digital games? printing less physical copies means you save money on the distribution and production of said disks. but instead of EVER going down, they have only gone up.
