Heather Graham as Chris's mother is such a great character. I can't speak as much to other versions of Carrie, but this show is such a great example of how families and other communities all have responsibility towards one another. but the acting of the more egregiously villainous characters is so freaking good.

I LOVE it when you can see a "villain" have clear choices and pick wrong every time. You know what's going to happen in a 4th adaptation but you hope for her to take the other path anyway!

I will disagree with the mother part. If we look at the show as awhole she left her husband because he was a bully, when she did leave she tried to contact Chris but she wouldn’t take her calls, she even had her step daughter send a message to her. She just wanted to be mad ofcourse like you said pride! Her dad taught her that.
