Everyone fighting about it being revealed Hikaru never liked Yoshiki like that…. If it was obvious to you, congrats. People are allowed their own interpretations. TBH, it doesn’t change the story a whole lot. Can’t we just enjoy this cool story exploring a young boy’s (Yoshiki’s) journey of finding and accepting himself, his struggles with internalized homophobia and feeling like he’s never belonged anywhere? The fact that his love was unrequited ads another layer of tragedy to me. Honestly, it’s pretty relatable for young queer people. I think a lot of us have experienced falling for our best friends in our youth. His life is so limited in his village, Hikaru was one of the very few people who made him feel alive. Ofc he fell in love with him. How tragic, and beautiful.

Yoshiki really met him in the limb of souls. ogHikaru asked him if life is still painful for him to live and Yoshiki said it's not anymore because he has "Hikaru" and he loves him more than anything. And then ogHikaru says he regrets dying before confessing his feelings to a girl who he called Saitou. And then Yoshiki said he had feelings for him, romantic feelings, which ogHikaru responded to as "I didn't know. I mean, I don't even know what to say but sorry. Bye". He doesn't reciprocate Yoshiki's past feelings and Yoshiki doesn't care about it anymore because he says now he has someone he loves to return home to, which is "Hikaru", who is waiting for him.
