I struggled with painful cystic acne for years. I tried doxycycline and tretinoin. The doxycycline made me throw up every day and loose ten pounds and the tretinoin made my skin so dry and flaky it became painful. I finally found relief when I switched to adapolene 0.3% and started only using a hydrating cleanser, sunscreen, and a moisturizer after my topical. There is nothing wrong with being holistic, but it can only do so much and aestheticians can’t treat all forms of acne effectively.

same here ! my acne went away and I was happy. Not for long, my skin was like NO haha here have some papulopustular rosacea 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️now I struggle with that lol

I’m so glad you are sharing your journey. I have been on all the same meds with acne. Accurane worked for me. Many times you have to go through a cycle twice. Took it in my 20s and skin is still good in my 40s.

Sounds like you needed a better derm ❤️wish you could give accutane another go with a better provider. It’s been an absolute game changer for everyone I know thats used it.
