Build your own TV FRAME & turn your TV into ART! Comment FRAME and I’ll send you my materials list! Measure inside the black frame on your TV. Those are the inside edge measurements for the trim you want in front. I used a 2.5” chair rail trim. Measure, then miter OUT at a 45° angle. You’ll want opposite 45° cuts on each side of the trim so they meet together like a frame. Wood glue and nail that frame together, then measure the OUTSIDE edges of it. These will be the long edge measurements for the trim that goes on the sides. This trim makes sure you can’t see the TV when looking at it from the side. Mine is 1” but you can change this depending on the depth you need! You want to measure these trim pieces then miter IN at a 45° angle on each side. Think about it like creating a second frame. Glue and nail this side frame flush to the edges of the front frame. I added scrap wood spacers to the top and sides so the frame would sit where I wanted it on the TV (since it’s larger than the TV). I left 1/2” on all sides as that’s the width of the black frame on my TV I want to cover! Don’t forget to measure and drill a hole for your sensor! Wood fill and sand nail holes and corners. I spray painted mine with Rustoleum Dark Copper then went over it with Rustoleum Champagne Bronze spray paint. Once it was dry, I went over it again with Antique Gold Rub n Buff. This creates depth and shine! Since my TV sits straight up and down, I’m just adding a few command strips to entire it stays put. If your TV slants forward, consider adding a brace over the top or even using stretchy straps stapled to the frame. I downloaded art from Etsy. If you have a smart TV, you can do something similar with the Amazon Photos app! And that’s it! Customize it to your liking with trim and color & turn your TV into a work of art! Will you give this a try? #frametv #tvframe #weekendproject #easydiy #homeupgrade
