@reallifewithkasey: For years, I went through what felt like complete hell with benzodiazepine use and withdrawal. At the time, I never could have imagined that those experiences would eventually become something I could use to help other people. ❤️ I’ve now done several presentations on benzodiazepines, and I have another one coming up. I cannot explain how meaningful it is to take something that was once one of the darkest chapters of my life and turn it into an opportunity to educate, advocate, and help others feel less alone. There is so much people need to understand about benzodiazepine use, dependence, withdrawal, and the challenges that can come with recovery. My hope is that by sharing my personal experience and what I’ve learned along the way, I can help others feel heard, help families better understand what their loved ones may be experiencing, and help professionals recognize what patients need. I wouldn’t wish those years on anyone. But knowing that my experience might make someone else’s journey a little less lonely, or help someone receive the understanding and support they deserve, makes sharing my story worth it. Sometimes, the very experiences that nearly break us become the experiences we use to help others. And for that, I am incredibly grateful. ❤️
