@altinyoiz: Shah ismail Safavi🇮🇷🔥 Shah Ismail I (1487–1524) was the founder of the Safavid Empire of Iran and one of the most significant rulers in Iranian history. Born into the Safavid dynasty, he became the leader of the Safavid movement at a young age and gradually gathered powerful supporters, particularly the Qizilbash Turkmen warriors. In 1501, at the age of fourteen, he captured Tabriz, declared himself Shah, and established the Safavid Empire, marking the beginning of a new era in Iranian political history. He adopted Twelver Shia Islam as the official religion of his empire, a decision that profoundly shaped Iran’s religious and cultural identity for centuries. Through a series of military campaigns, Shah Ismail expanded his territories across much of the Iranian plateau, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and parts of the Caucasus and Central Asia, bringing many regions under a centralized Iranian monarchy. He strengthened royal authority, promoted Persian administrative traditions, and helped revive Iran as a major independent power between the Ottoman Empire and the Central Asian states. Shah Ismail was also a poet who wrote under the pen name Khata’i, composing poetry primarily in Azerbaijani Turkic and also leaving a significant cultural legacy. However, his expansion brought him into conflict with the Ottoman Empire, culminating in the Battle of Chaldiran in 1514, where Sultan Selim I’s forces defeated the Safavid army, partly because of the Ottomans’ effective use of firearms and artillery. Despite this defeat, Shah Ismail retained his throne and preserved the Safavid state. His reign laid the foundations for the later achievements of the Safavid Empire, especially under Shah Abbas I, and his establishment of a powerful Iranian state remains one of the defining turning points in the history of Iran and the Middle East. #iran #shahismail #fyp #islamic_video #azerbaijan
