I am 16 months out and only now getting a bit of movement. I can actually lead out walking with my tkr leg carefully. Makes no sense. I still walk like a crab

TKR 6 years ago. I’ve been back caddying on the golf course 5 years ago. 8 miles, 20,000 steps, 6 days a week ever since. It’s possible to have a great outcome. Shore Ortho Somers Point NJ 👍

I’ve had two knee replacements and one revision because I wore it out over 15 years. What I have learned is that you get out of it what you put into it. It’s what you do every day between your PT appointments like stretching, weight training, swimming etc. It’s got to be your daily job for at least 6 months or you will have a poor outcome. Many people blame the surgeon when they just didn’t put in the work or take responsibility their own recovery.

I had an excellent orthopedic surgeon here in the Raleigh, NC area, Dr. Chiavetta who did my knee replacement three years ago. There are good knee surgeons out there. I asked someone I knew for a recommendation who had a knee replacement with a good outcome.

I’ve never seen a knee replacement without a patella component and I’ve work in physical therapy for 30+ years.. wow!! Good luck with yours!!
