Is Aelin too smart for her own good? Queen of Shadows is the moment Throne of Glass swings for epic, and mostly connects, but not always for the right reasons. Aelin Galathynius is fully unleashed as a mastermind queen, but when a protagonist is always several steps ahead, tension becomes a performance rather than a feeling. A look at what works (Dorian, Manon, Lysandra), what doesn’t (the pacing, the withheld information masquerading as suspense), and why this is still the strongest entry in the series so far IMO. This review was shaped in meaningful part by (and in some instances quoted from) a brilliant breakdown from my friend Jessi (@Jess 📚⚖️ ) in our Fable book club. Some of the sharpest thinking in here isn’t mine, and they deserve to know that. #books #fantasybooks #throneofglass #queenofshadows #bookreview
