A glimpse inside the home of Jacob D. Miller — a Massachusetts man with a history of dangerous obsessions. On April 8, 2025, federal authorities executed a search warrant at Miller’s residence, where they say they uncovered a stockpile that included radioactive elements, toxic chemicals such as arsenic, alkali metals, acids, oxidizers, and explosive materials. Once the owner of a business called “Collect the Periodic Table,” Miller allegedly acquired substances as extreme as Plutonium-239, believed to have originated from Cold War-era Soviet smoke detectors. Investigators say he made multiple sales through PayPal in 2023, and additional transaction records were recovered from the home. Miller has a history of legal trouble. In 2004, he was convicted for possession of child pornography and sentenced to seven years of probation. In a separate case, he was also convicted of possessing explosive devices, earning him two and a half years in jail and a decade of probation. In 2014, while still on probation, Miller was ordered to cease selling depleted uranium on eBay — an order he allegedly ignored. As a convicted felon, Miller is prohibited under federal law from possessing explosives or ammunition. Each charge for unlawful possession carries a potential penalty of up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
