Homemade FRUIT ROLL-UPS ✨🍓🫐these were so easy to make, and they've been on our list for a long time. made with only three simple ingredients they're not only better for you but also better for your wallet! I'm glad we finally tried them. They would make the perfect snack to batch for back to school. Here's the cost breakdown: Average price per Fruit rollup is between $.85 and $1.00 depending on what size box you buy and brand. There are “healthier" versions available but they're pretty pricey. The average cost for 4 cups of strawberries is $3.99. If you doubled the recipe using all 4 cups that would yield 16 fruit rollups, come out to be about $.24 a fruit rollup. Here's how to make them: 2 cups of strawberries, hulled 1 tablespoon honey 1 tsp fresh lemon juice Optional if you want the cool swirl: 1/2 cup blueberries 1 tsp honey Preheat oven to 150F 1. Blend strawberries, honey and lemon juice until completely smooth. If using frozen berries, add everything to a pot, simmer on low until the berries are thawed and then blend. *if using blueberries for the swirl repeat step 1 2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. You could also use a silicone baking mat. 3. Pour on the puree and spread it into a very even layer, roughly 1/4 inch thick. To create the swirl, add blueberry puree to a ziplock bag, make a small hole on one corner and pipe it on top of the strawberry. Take a toothpick and from the center drag a line to the edge, repeating until you get your desired pattern. 4. Bake 2-3 hours, beginning to check around 2 hours. It's ready when the surtace is dry to the touch and no longer sticky, but still flexible. 5. Let it cool and rest for at least 2 hours. It actually softens as it rests. 6. Cut into strips and roll.
