@antonia_investing: £1.60 a week. That’s what the “cost of living government” is worth to a typical household so far. Since July, Andy Burnham has taken VAT off electricity bills (about £45 a year, guaranteed until March), announced a £2 bus fare cap from January, put Fuel Finder petrol prices on Google Maps (about £40 a year if you shop around) and brought forward rules on subscription traps. For a household that drives but doesn’t use the bus, that’s roughly £85 a year. Over the same period, the energy price cap rose £60 a year, even with the VAT cut included, and forecasters expect a bigger rise in January. Burnham has called these “small” measures, with bigger plans to come. The Budget on 28 October is where that gets tested. This is general information, not financial advice. Meaningful help or political tinkering? Where do you stand? yeah take diesel and petrol ones paying over half as in tax as your taxed on the tax so more or less ones paying half in tax on the amount you pay all goes to the government

How much will ot cost to drive around to find cheap fuel. The greedy government take 59% per litre of fuel. we are absolutely screwed. Just remember Andy Burnham has left Manchester in £1.4 billion in debt with his bus success

£1.60 a week is an insult to everyone struggling. It's like telling an old lady, who has paid tax and ni her entire life, who falls on an unrepaired pavement and breaks her hip to make her own way to hospital, Oh, hang on .....

I know people r complaining but any government no matter who has nothing else to give! It’s a difficult position to be in right now. Things r difficult for people not just here around the world! Look at France and their education system, we r still lucky to have a functioning government and they r doing their best with very little manoeuvre.

is ridiculous measures... im sure should be better way specially on fuel to cut vat in fuel cost like 25p per litre as example could be 1.70 still high but im sure help to families and reduce the cost by kw to max 20p electric and gas as example 🤷♂️

stop pricing our home grown green electric on gas prices. it's a quick and easy one and something that would benefit all households with winter coming
