@oneleggedpsych: This is our last talking point before we move on from Q2 — which looked at where the line is between objectification and treating somebody like a person. Intention vs. Impact? What should have more weight? And one last time… Does attraction equal behavior? #OneLeggedPsychologist #BothSidesOfDevotion #Psychology #Boundaries #intentvsimpact

Maurycy :
When I meet someone new, the conversation topics are always general at first—I set a boundary for myself not to discuss intimate or unpleasant matters. I first assess whether we are a good match in terms of personality, strengths and weaknesses, interests, core values, personal boundaries, and probably a thousand other things—in short, whether she meets my expectations as a life partner. Once we have built mutual trust, the conversation moves to a deeper level; we begin discussing intimacy, though delicately enough to avoid crossing the line of good taste. And if a boundary happens to be crossed, we talk about it and adjust our behavior accordingly.

Intention and impact... When one's intent is to objectify, one doesn't really care about impact; When one's intent is more humanistic, one cares greatly about impact...

It takes time to know someone you must realize that there are what I call anti-devotees. these would never date a person with a disability. Narrow minded people. Ths subject will take time.

Once someone tells you, or you could easily see it, it's not a misunderstanding anymore. It's your choice.
