I think either the traveler was genuinely traumatized watching Signora getting snuffed out before their eyes (which the visuals seemed to suggest) and couldn't remember, or they didn't wanna tell Odette that her last words were "FILTHY RATS, ALL OF YOU!" Maybe in a less tense situation they could've laughed about it, but this was NOT the time.

It does make sense. Traveler just got out of a difficult battle with her, followed by Raiden’s intense gaze plus her trying to kill us again and we were fighting her, not to mention all the stuff we went through the 4 other nations. While we the audience remember the protagonist is another story.
