@mkblusk: THE MOST TERRIFYING HOUSE IN THE FRENCH QUARTER? 😱 📍 1140 Royal Street, New Orleans In 1834, a devastating fire exposed the horrifying treatment of enslaved people inside the mansion of wealthy socialite Madame Delphine LaLaurie. An enslaved cook reportedly set the fire in a desperate attempt to bring attention to the abuse. When rescuers entered, they discovered seven enslaved people who had been restrained, starved, and severely mistreated. An angry mob descended on the property, nearly destroying the mansion. Madame LaLaurie escaped the city. The original house was severely damaged and later rebuilt, but the address has remained infamous ever since. 👻 AND THEN THERE ARE THE GHOST STORIES... Legend says visitors have heard chains dragging across the floors, unexplained screams, and footsteps coming from empty rooms. Others claim to have seen ghostly figures standing in the upstairs windows. And according to local folklore, the property carries a curse. Even actor Nicolas Cage, who purchased the mansion in 2007, later lost it to foreclosure. Coincidence? Or just another chapter in the mansion's eerie reputation? 💀 👇 WOULD YOU SPEND THE NIGHT INSIDE THIS HOUSE FOR $10,000?
