I was a grandparent favorite and the one who lived the farthest away. Both my grandparents waited to hear from me and know I was coming home. my grandma passed right after talking to me on the phone and my grandfather right after I saw him at the hospital. the rest of the family had been home to see them. They said my grandfather hadn't moved for days. He squeezed my hand as soon as I told him who it was and it was OK to go be with gma.
